DocMate Privacy
Placeholder privacy policy. DocMate treats your documents as personal data. This page describes, in plain language, what DocMate does and does not do with the information on your device. The legal entity, contact details, retention periods, and jurisdictional references below are placeholders and must be replaced before this policy is published.

DocMate is an iPhone application that helps you scan, organise, search, sign, redact, and compare documents on your device. The app is designed to perform as much work as possible on-device, with optional iCloud sync and optional backup features that you control.
By default, the documents you create, the folders and workspaces you set up, and the indexes built from them are stored locally on your iPhone. They are not transmitted to DocMate, to any DocMate-controlled server, or to any third party unless you explicitly enable a feature that requires it.
If you choose to enable iCloud sync, your documents, folders, workspaces, and the indexes derived from them are stored in your private iCloud database using Apple’s iCloud infrastructure. DocMate does not operate that infrastructure and does not have access to its contents beyond what your device passes back to the app. You can disable iCloud sync at any time from the app settings.
Text recognition runs on-device using Apple’s built-in frameworks. The contents of your pages are not sent to DocMate or any third party for OCR processing. TODO: confirm this for every supported language and document any language that requires a remote model.
DocMate does not include analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or third-party tracking. The website you are reading does not set marketing cookies and does not run third-party analytics. The website does not collect personal data.
When you choose to share a document — for example by exporting a PDF or submitting it through another app — the recipient and the channel are entirely under your control. DocMate does not initiate network transfers of your documents without an action you take in the app.
